Safer communities

Group students as part of CDU's respect month initiative

At CDU, we are committed to creating a safe and respectful environment for all our staff and students.

Safer Communities provides free and confidential support for CDU students who have experienced harm, are feeling unsafe, or simply want someone to talk to about something that doesn’t feel right. Safer Communities offers a safe, respectful space to talk, where support is guided by your choices, at your pace, and with your wellbeing at the centre.

Support is also available if you’re worried about someone else, or if you’re unsure how to respond or help safely. We recognise that conversations about safety, violence, and harm can be confronting, but please remember you’re not alone, and support is available.

Make a Safety and Support disclosure

We encourage all students and staff to report all instances of violence, including any situation that makes you feel unsafe

Creating a safe and respectful community

A safe and respectful community is everybody's responsibility

CDU Safer Communities delivers a range of programs, events,  and activities for CDU students that aim to foster a strong  culture of safety, support, respect, and connection. These initiatives promote respectful relationships, raise awareness of consent and personal boundaries, encourage bystander action, and create opportunities for students to connect with one another in positive and inclusive ways.
