Based at CDU’s Casuarina campus, our Audiology service offers hearing services to adults and children.
Our services are provided by Master of Clinical Audiology students under the supervision of trained audiologists and CDU lecturers. This service is currently only available to CDU students, CDU staff and staff members’ families.
Hearing screening for adults and children
Audiology hearing screenings are offered twice a year with:
- adult screenings and
- paediatric screenings in specific semesters.
These screenings help detect potential hearing issues and recommend next steps if needed.
Screenings are conducted by Master of Clinical Audiology students under supervision and include:
- Case history – brief questions about your hearing and ear health.
- Otoscopy – A quick, painless ear check using a small light.
- Hearing screening – Listen to sounds through headphones or speakers.
- Tympanometry (as needed) – A simple test to assess middle ear function using a soft ear plug that briefly changes air pressure.
Fees
This service is free of charge, as it is a supervised teaching and learning activity conducted by Master of Clinical Audiology students.
