The College of Nursing and Midwifery in collaboration with the Northern Territory Top End Health Service have a number of selected Remote Placements. The intent of these placements is to offer a professional clinical experience to nursing students who may have an interest and aptitude for a career path in remote nursing practice.
NOTE: Due to the changing demands on clinical services and/or other events such as extreme weather, travel, cultural events, staff levels, and availability of accommodation, the Remote Health Centre Manager or delegate may change or cease a student placement without notice and at complete discretion of the service.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, students must satisfy the following:- Currently enrolled as undergraduate nursing or Masters of Nursing Practice (pre-registration) student in the College of Nursing and Midwifery
- All pre-clinical compliance requirements remain current, including compliance requirements for Northern Territory Health Services
- A satisfactory rate of progression
- Successful completion of 2nd-year scope of practice clinical placement units and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health unit of study
- Eligible to enrol into your final year clinical placement units
- A demonstrated interest in a career path involving rural and remote health care

Funding assistance
Some remote clinical placements may require personal funds for accommodation and travel costs.
