Dr Adriana A. Stibral
Dr Stibral's research centres on Humanitarian Studies as an emerging academic field of scholarship and its contributions to humanitarian practice, the humanitarian sector and humanitarianism more broadly. Her work examines the professionalisation of humanitarian aid, humanitarian education, curriculum design and pedagogy, and the relationship between research, policy and practice. A particular focus is whether university-based humanitarian education is sufficiently inclusive, contextualised, interdisciplinary and relevant to practitioners. Her research includes a 2023 doctoral thesis on the emergence of Humanitarian Studies, a peer-reviewed article in Higher Education (2022), and publications in The Humanitarian Leader (2021, 2025).
