Overview



Applications for 2024 will open from 1st March 2024 and will close on 6th April 2024.

The course focuses on the practical components of providing clinical care in the paediatric and neonatal retrieval setting which includes a 3-day teaching block held at Charles Darwin University, Casuarina Campus. The impact of the aeromedical environment on patients, procedures and equipment will be discussed. Evidence and theories underpinning the constructs of the paediatric and neonatal care will be explored.

This course would be suitable for current health workers working in acute/critical care/retrieval or pre-hospital health settings with experience or interest in the retrieval space. Participants will be motivated to learn in an intensive, specialist environment, and engage with other clinicians and educators online and in skills stations, simulation, and teaching sessions.

The three weeks of online learning for this short course will be available in May 2024 with the 3 day face to face teaching block held on 7th - 9th May 2024.

Entry requirements

Admission criteria

Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Agency (AHPRA). It is expected that applicants have current or recent work experience in critical care, paediatrics/neonatal acute care retrieval or pre-hospital health settings.
