Dr Carol Keane

CAROL KEANE

Dr Carol Keane is a Senior Lecturer in Clinical Psychology and is a registered psychologist with area of practice endorsement. Carol is also a board-approved supervisor for psychologists in training.

Carol's key areas of research interest and expertise include complex trauma and complex traumatic stress responses and recovery. Carol is particularly interested in psychological resilience as a protective factor in the traumatic stress domain. In addition, Carol has a strong research interest in clinically applied health psychology and in the development, implementation and evaluation of evidenced-based psychological interventions. Carol is also interested in the application of nonlinear and dynamic systems modelling within applied psychology research.

Carol was awarded the 2019 UOW Faculty of Social Sciences Award for Excellence in Clinical Psychology Research Skills and the 2018 APS College of Clinical Psychologists Student Award. Within supervisory teams, Carol is currently supervising three PhD candidates in projects related to complex traumatic stress and other adversities.
