Ensembles

Enjoy the social side of music

Welcome

Taking part in an ensemble is one of the most rewarding and valuable experiences of a student's musical training and complements what has been learnt in individual lessons.

Ensemble performance assists students in developing rhythm, intonation, phrasing, and in honing their listening skills while fostering teamwork and a spirit of collaboration.

CYCM offers several ensemble programs. All students taking individual tuition through the CYCM are strongly encouraged to participate in the

ensemble program to extend their competencies in the areas of musicianship, conceptual understandings and aesthetic awareness. And to move from the isolation of individual practice into the friendly environment of group music-making.

Weekly ensemble rehearsals culminate with performances at the end of Term 2 and Term 4. There are four terms in a CYCM calendar year and ten weeks to each term. Within each term, students have eight lessons.

Cost is $140 per group for eight lessons
