This Orientation program for Darwin-based students will help you get to know CDU so you can feel connected and supported for study.

If you are studying externally as a domestic student, you are welcome to attend Orientation sessions outlined for your nearest campus location.

All times are in Australian Central Standard Time (ACST) unless stated otherwise.

Monday 10 November - Admin and enrolment drop-in

CDU Danala Orientation: Admin and enrolment drop-in

Danala | Education and Community Precinct, Foyer area

9 am - 3.30 pm 
Get set for the week ahead! Drop in to enrol, get your student ID and 
ask questions. Staff will be on hand, with rolling group sessions every
45 minutes from 9 am (last session at 3.30 pm) as well as one-on-one 
support to guide you through the enrolment process.
 
Tuesday 11 November - Free day to explore

Today is just for you. Take some time to explore the campus before 
Orientation starts or create your own adventure around Darwin. Ask
our friendly Student Central team for recommendations.
 
Wednesday 12 November - Welcome to CDU Orientation

Welcome to CDU Orientation

Danala | Education and Community Precinct, 
Community Learning Room and Foyer area

9.30 am - 3.45 pm
Official welcome event with a formal introduction to CDU, followed by a Welcome 
to beautiful Larrakia Country. Meet the teams who provide essential services and 
support your learning, health and wellbeing journeys. Enjoy free food and connect 
with fellow students. Attend sessions about CDU student life, tools for student success 
and safety, important student services and having fun in Darwin.
 
Thursday 13 November - Faculty day

Connect with your faculty: Faculty of Health

Main meeting area Casuarina campus, Blue Precinct 5, Level 1, Room 01

9.30 am - 12.30 pm
Meet the faculty and teaching staff for your discipline. Be treated 
with free morning tea and get to know your peers with fun icebreakers.
 

Connect with your faculty: Faculty of Arts and Society

Main meeting area Danala | Education and Community Precinct, Level 3,
Room 08

10 am - 2 pm
An introduction to the faculty, including teaching staff and learning 
support team. Network with your peers over free food and refreshments. 
 

Connect with your faculty: Faculty of Science and Technology*

For students in the following discipline: Information Technology

Main meeting area Danala | Education and Community Precinct, 
Level 4, Room 16

10 am - 1 pm
Immerse yourself in all things faculty - meet your lecturers, 
make industry connections with peak bodies and mingle
with your peers. Free food and take a tour of your study spaces. 
 

Connect with your faculty: Faculty of Science and Technology*

For students in the following disciplines: Engineering and
Environmental Science

Main meeting area Casuarina campus, Red Building 1, 
Level 3, Room 01/02, Student Lounge

1.30 pm - 4.30 pm
Immerse yourself in all things faculty - meet your lecturers, 
make industry connections with peak bodies and mingle
with your peers. Free food and take a tour of your study spaces.

Friday 14 November - Student carnival

5 pm - 7 pm
Get ready for an evening filled with free food, DJ, photo booth and loads of fun. 
Dress up or down, feel free to wear your favourite multicultural attire. Remember, 
as long as you're there, it's a party!

All onshore international students in Australia are expected to attend sessions outlined in their campus Orientation program. If you are unable to attend Orientation due to delays, please contact us for assistance.

Transport

You can plan your journey on public transport with the NT Bus Tracker app. The major bus interchanges are located at Casuarina Shopping Centre, Darwin interchange and Palmerston interchange. Get student concession for bus travel by presenting your Student ID card to the bus driver on-board.

Parking

Parking facilities are currently unavailable at Danala | Education and Community Precinct. You may use paid parking along City of Darwin's on-street parking zones or off-street CBD multi-level car parks. 

Free parking, parking permits and pay and display parking are available at Casuarina campus. See Parking facilities for more details.
