Associate Professor Benjamin Tan is the Associate Dean Research and Chair of the College Research Advisory Committee in the College of Nursing and Midwifery. He is also the Adjunct Professor in Nursing at Southwest Medical University Hospital.
Benjamin received his PhD from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and his PhD training was partially completed at the highly regarded University of Manchester in the UK. He is a Registered Nurse in Australia, New Zealand and China.
Benjamin’s research background is centred on evidence-based practice and cancer supportive care. He has extensive experience in successfully leading and coordinating several high-quality randomised controlled trials for symptom management in patients with cancer and chronic conditions. His work has been published in over 70 publications in international and national peer-review journals and conferences, and he has participated in over 15 research projects as a key investigator.
Benjamin currently serves as an academic editor for Evidence-based Complementary and Alternative Medicine, a leading journal in the field of complementary medicine. He has also been a member of the international review panel for several internationally renowned journals, including International Journal of Nursing Studies, Complementary Therapies in Medicine, European Journal of Oncology Nursing, Complementary Therapies in Clinical Practice, and International Nursing Review.
