CDU Confucius Institute is hosting an introductory Tai Chi workshop, which will provide a sneak peek into the upcoming Tai Chi classes to be offered. This beginner-friendly workshop is designed to introduce participants to the fundamental movements, breathing techniques, and philosophy behind Tai Chi.

Known for its graceful, flowing postures and meditative approach, Tai Chi is not only a martial art but also a powerful practice for improving balance, flexibility, and mental well-being.

CDU Confucius Institute Tai Chi instructor, Mr Hanlin Lu, holds a Master of Physical Education degree from Anhui Normal University, majoring in Physical Education Teaching. Hanlin possesses extensive teaching experience, specialising in many Tai Chi forms, such as Yang-style, Chen-style, Five-Animal Frolics, as well as other forms of health Qigong.

Hanlin would be presenting a 40-minute presentation on different forms of Tai Chi and what you can expect from the four upcoming classes.

What to expect

  • A guided presentation session led by an experienced Tai Chi instructor.
  • Gentle warm-up exercises to prepare your body.
  • Basic Tai Chi movements focusing on posture, breathing, and mindfulness.
  • Insights into the history and health benefits of Tai Chi.
  • A Q&A session about the upcoming Tai Chi courses at CDU Confucius Institute.

Who can join?

This workshop is open to all – no prior experience is required. Whether you are a beginner curious about Tai Chi or looking for a new way to enhance your physical and mental health, this session is for you.

* Please note that these sessions are Tai Chi practice sessions. If you have concerns around your physical ability to participate in these sessions, please consult your health practitioner prior to attending one of these sessions.
