The course catalogue lists the recommended study plan for all courses.
It is important to follow the recommended study plan as closely as possible. This will ensure you don't have clashes in your timetable and will help you progress smoothly through your course.
To view the recommended study plan for your course:
Enter your course code into the course catalogue, and select your course.
From the course overview, select the 'Study Plan' tab.
Edit your study plan
Now that you know what is in your recommended study plan, you can edit your study plan to match the recommended plan.
It’s a good idea to keep a copy of your study plan handy so you can check off units as you complete them.
Open the Blackboard app and search for 'Charles Darwin University'. If you're unable to find us, try modifying your search. If you're still having trouble, contact our 24/7 Learnline help centre.
Log in with your CDU username and password. These are the same credentials you use to access your Learnlilne courses on a computer.
If you're enrolled, you can view your personalised timetable by logging in through “My Timetable" in the menu on the left.
If you haven't enrolled yet, you can use the search filter to look for the units you are interested in.
Sometimes there are multiple offerings of the same activity, a tutorial for example. If this is the case you'll see a message at the top of the unit timetable information. You will only need to select one of these.
Get your student card
As soon as you’re enrolled you should apply for your student ID card.
You must have a student ID to use the library and computer labs, as well as sit exams.
You can get your card straight away at Alice Springs, Casuarina, Darwin Waterfront and Palmerston campuses. Other campuses and centres have a 3-day turnaround. You must present valid photographic ID (Australian Driving Licence or passport).
Get your textbooks
Head to the CDU bookshop to find out which textbooks you need for your course.
The bookshop publishes the list of prescribed texts about four weeks before the semester starts.
Search by unit code to find out what you need.
You can order directly from the CDU bookshop and you can also borrow textbooks from the library if they're available. Check out the library's New Students' Guide if you're unsure how to search for a book on the library website.
Free Microsoft Office suite for students
Did you know that as an enrolled student at CDU you can install up to five copies of the Microsoft Office suite on your personal devices for free?
Create, store and share documents, spreadsheets, presentations and notebooks online with your lecturers and collaborators.
