Zen Dance

The CDU Confucius Institute is offering Zen Dance workshops on the CDU Casuarina campus every Thurday from 5 pm - 6 pm, starting on 29 January to 2 April.

Discover the art of Zen Dance — Move with presence. Dance with spirit. Live with joy.

What is Zen Dance?

Zen Dance is a unique art form of dance that combines Tai Chi movements, rooted in the philosophy of Zen. It is inspired by the energy of nature. Through guided reflection and mindfulness exercises, you'll nurture compassion, focus, and emotional balance.

Zen Dance is about cultivating stillness and presence. Zen Dance welcomes everyone to become one with their environment, to feel the breath of a flower, the stillness of a tree, and the rhythm of the earth. In this space, every motion becomes a meditation, every step a journey inward.

We invite you to join us. You will learn basic, gentle Zen Dance movements, feel the flow of 'Qi' (life energy) through breath and relaxation. Use your movements to embody inner peace, joy, quiet strength and unlock your creative spirit with tempo, direction, and flow.

Whether you're new to movement or seeking a deeper practice, our Zen Dance introductory class offers a gentle, profound, and uplifting experience.

Come as you are — no prior dance experience needed. Just bring your breath, your body, and an open heart.

Why practice Zen Dance?

•    reconnect with your inner self and nature
•    improve body awareness, flexibility, and balance
•    reduce stress and emotional tension
•    boost creativity and self-expression
•    experience joy through mindful movement
•    find a sense of harmony in both body and spirit.

Ten sessions will be delivered.
